Favourite birthday celebration

My all time favorite birthday celebration was without a doubt, my 18th birthday. I had the best time any girl could ask for!

I was surrounded by the things I cherish most in life - my massive family, good food, an amazing performance, lots of pressies and even more love.

To celebrate my turning 18, almost my entire family - I'm talking dad, step-mom, siblings, grandparents on both sides, an aunt and uncle or two and some friends traveled to Durban for the weekend. We stayed at a beautiful hotel and it was such a great feeling to be surrounded by the people that mean the most to me. 

I was showered with tonnes of pressies, my favorite being my new laptop and my vintage mannequin and hat stand.

The evening of my birthday we went out for dinner where I happily sipped on my very first legal Margarita. After dinner we headed to The Barnyard Theatre. We sat at the very front tables and watched "Big Top Rock" - a rock concert with a circus theme that included the most amazing aerial acts and dance routines I have ever seen.

The entire family had a blast and we ended a perfect weekend by having a buffet-style breakfast together the next day before we headed home. I was then lucky enough to spend some time celebrating with my very special girlfriends. It was my perfect birthday as I spent it doing the things that I loved with the people that I love. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate turning 18.
