Valentines Day 2015

This Valentine's Day was perfect.
At the time, there were a few imperfect moments and things that didn't go according to plan but these just made it even more... perfect.

On Friday morning, SJ got dressed up in her red and white princess dress for school and I joined her mid-morning for a class Valentines picnic. I had lots of fun taking a heart shaped cookie cutter through her lunch box. SJ and I loved putting together cute little gifts for her teachers and school friends.

The plan on Saturday morning was for me to wake up early and make a heart shaped breakfast for my three valentines. But I slept through my alarm... And woke up to everyone up and ready for the day. But an excuse for Valentines pancakes for breakfast.

MC and I swapped gifts - I thought I had hit the jackpot with a gorgeous smelling cologne, only to learn that he has this cologne already! And he spoilt me rotten but was a little deflated when finding out that he had missed my wish list post last week.

We were supposed to join friends for a Valentines picnic concert in the park but the windy and rainy weather kept us home and cuddled on the couch.

This year taught me so much about Valentines Day...
It's a great day to have an excuse to spoil the one you love but all you need is the one you love to have an amazing day.

How was your Valentines Day?

  1. Sounds like you still had a good day? I often felt let down by Valentines day so we just don't bother celebrating it anymore - definitely helps to get through the day ha ha.

  2. Chris doesn't "do" Valentines Day, but knows that I love any excuse to celebrate someone special. With him being away it wasn't possible to do gifts or cuddles, but he made up for that by sending me a beautiful card online with one of my favourite photos of us and some wonderful words. He also sent Zoe one, which delighted her! We lay in bed eating cupcakes watching the sunrise, talking about how much we love him, before making our own online cards to send back to him.

  4. SJ is such a doll! I love me a low key Valentine's! We left the house this year and sat in an insane amount of traffic. Never again!
